this is a pretty slick laptop for the money. There are a few out of the box bugs --mostly having to do with sound-- but they're easy to fix. The lack of wireless-N LAN will matter to some but not so much to me as wireless-G works good enough in my house. From the dashboard, Win7 appears identical to the Vista op sys but it reportedly works better. (Hint: towards the end, despite the bad rap, Vista worked just fine, anyway.) I bought this machine on Internet sale at Best Buy for $429 (a lot less than Amazon price) and this is probably one of the major reasons i like it so much. Reportedly it is built out of older tech parts, which is also fine with me as i'm old and low tech, too, and not at all into games or graphics. It does what i want very well, indeed.
